About The Mazda Bongo Friendee 1995 - 2005
Mazda Bongo Friendee was launched in 1995 and is built on the SG chassis platform, It is an eight-seater MPV and it was also marketed in the Japan as the Ford Freda. They are generally available in automatic transmissions, and also available in either 2WD and 4WD trims. The 2.5-litre turbo diesels are more popular in Japan and a 2.5 litre petrol engine is also available. Some trim models have Mazda factory built kitchens fitted.
Many Mazda bongos Friendee were exported to the UK and adapted as a caravan. Bongo Friendee comes with fold down seats which convert to a double bed, and on some trims there is also an "Auto Free Top" option where uplifting roof which can sleep two more people. Flat top trims are also available.
In 1998, Mitsubishi Motors started marketing the Bongo as the Delica. This was also marketed as Mazda Access in some other markets. In 2001, a facelift version happened with a reviewed body style and more engine options, though the 2.5 turbodiesel continued unaffected. Air conditioning, climate control and electronic blinds are custom fitted.
